Donald A. Eisner, Ph.D. J.D., is a licensed attorney and psychologist.  He has a Ph.D. from West Virginia University, a post-doctorate in gerontology studies at the University of Southern California, and a law degree from the University of West Los Angeles.  He was licensed to practice as an attorney in California in 1988.  Dr. Eisner has handled numerous psychotherapy malpractice cases, including abuse of transference and implanting of false memories as well as medication side effects.  He has also obtained a Writ of Habeas Corpus for individuals who are involuntarily hospitalized and represented individuals in court with respect to a Welfare and Institutions Code 72 hour hold.

Donald A. Eisner has been a Visiting Professor of Forensic Psychology at Alliant International University, where he taught courses on law and ethics in mental health.  Currently, Dr. Eisner is Dean of Eisner Institute for Professional Studies

He has testified in State and Federal court on mental health issues.  He has published an article in the American Journal of Forensic Psychology on expert witness testimony.  Dr. Eisner has written an academic book entitled, “The Death of Psychotherapy: From Freud to Alien Abductions”.  Additionally, he has published over twenty professional articles, which include  topics on forensic issues.
